ABC Fur 1980s Dark Green Snakeskin Suede Fox Fur Brim Hat 。Striking 1960s vintage hat by famed American milliners Frances & Walter Nelkin, featuring a Grenadier Austria felt body and dramatic layered feather-style trim. A rare statement piece sourced from a Hollywood costume house. ------- This is a rare mid-century millinery piece from the early 1960s by Frances & Walter Nelkin, an influential New York husband-and-wife design team known for high-end fashion hats worn by society clients and used by costume designers during the golden age of Hollywood. The hat features a soft green faux fur felt body made by Grenadier of Austria, a respected European manufacturer whose felt forms were imported for luxury American milliners. Around the crown is an elaborate layered trim of translucent plastic feather shapes, hand-attached to create movement and depth. This mix of traditional felt with modern materials is a hallmark of early 1960s design. Perfect for collectors, stylists, editorial shoots, or anyone who wants a true mid-century statement piece rather than a reproduction. –––––––––––– • Designer: Frances & Walter Nelkin • Origin: Grenadier, Made in Austria (felt body) • Era: circa 1960–1965 • Color: green with translucent feather-style trim • Construction: faux fur felt with plastic feather embellishments • Sourced from Hollywood costume inventory –––––––––––– CONDITION Excellent vintage condition.
