MARY LORENE | Accessories | Attractive 95s Pale Gold Straw 。This is a statement piece of fashion from the glamorous 1950s\'. This Juliet Cap molds itself to the head and comes to a pointy at the back. It is edged in velour, and there are beautiful coordinating color flowers at each side. A Juliet cap is a small open-work crocheted or mesh cap, often decorated with pearls, beads, or jewels, and chiefly worn with evening gowns or as bridal wear. The cap is named after the heroine of Shakespeare\'s Romeo and Juliet, who is sometimes portrayed wearing one. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. Post war 1940’s and 1950’s saw many women choosing not to wear hats on a regular basis. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. Generally speaking hats remained small and close to the head. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble. Alternatively, ‘pancake’, ‘mushroom’ or ‘cart wheel’ hats sat flat atop the head reviving turn of the century styles.
