Black felt Turn up Brim – Hats by Katie。This is a showstopper black felt wide brim hat from the fabulous 40s\'! The short crown is barely visible due to the extraordinary black and yellow feather arrangement that is attached to the front and cascade towards the back. The crown extends below the brim creating a cap. The brim is wide and flat, but the edges are shaped in a turned down style. A hat pin with felt head is attached to the brim.There is black veiling that covers the brim, & extends only about an inch down around the brim edge. There is a black grosgrain band around the crown that ends in a bow at the back. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of theta to help keep it in place. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials.
